I always describe my mom as "there is no one else like her" and there just really isn't. She has a way of making you feel incredibly loved by little things like the smell of her fresh clean sheets when you sleep over there on Christmas Eve or the way she brews up some cinnamon roast coffee for you on a dark/dreary November afternoon just when you need it most. She would do just about anything to "make it special" for her children and grandchildren...whatever the occasion...it doesn't matter...she wants it to be special for the one she loves. Growing up, I always woke up to balloons and presents on the day of my birthday and the party was always over the top. Her gifts are ones she probably doesn't even know she's giving and the best part about my mom is that as you are feeling blessed by her, she shows complete enjoyment in it...as if that there is nothing else in the world she would rather be doing than making you happy! Her home during Christmas time is everything that sums up my mom... joyous, warm, cozy, loving, safe, lovely, happy, inviting, and completely one of a kind! I am so lucky to have a mom that emulates the happiest season of all. Her love is in the details...
